Good morning to all great parents/caregivers!
Cooking is a multi-sensory experience. They learn by touching, tasting, seeing, feeling, and listening. Children who have sensory processing challenges can benefit greatly from the smells, textures and tastes involved with the cooking process. Rolling, mashing and kneading are all activities that are involved with cooking and baking, and may help children stay focused on the task.
This week we attempted to make a healthy wrap with our EIP children and they all did an amazing job by cooperating and participating in our cookery class!
One of our wonderful boy is going to show you how simple it is to make a rainbow wrap at home with your little ones!
If we can do it, so can you!
1. Tortilla wrap
2. Tomato (sliced)
3. Carrot (sliced)
4. Sweet corn (canned/ freshly steamed)
6. Sweet potato (steamed and mashed)
Adult assistance is required for wrapping and cutting at last stage.
Start introducing healthier snacks/food choice to children! They might not eat it at first try, but it's good to expose them to the varieties and the different texture of food!
