CNY Preparation (Craft 2)

🍊🍊🍊🍊

Less than a month to Chinese Lunar New Year⁉️

Have you have an idea how to decorate your lovely home❓

Perhaps this year, your little ones can help in assisting you in some simple decorations! At the same time, working on the fine and gross motor skills development of your child. YAY‼️

Today we are introducing another Chinese New Year Craft.:)

🤓🤓🤓

During Chinese New Year, the citrus fruit promises luck, prosperity, and a long life. Why is this so? That’s because the Chinese word for mandarin—kam—sounds similar to the word for “gold.” So, having mandarin oranges around the home at New Year is said to bring riches into your life. The citrus trees are meant to bring more of those fortune-filled vibes into your home or business and the more fruit on the tree, the better.

Through this activity, your child is able to work on many areas of development! Such as imitation of actions when you demostrated how to paste the leaf or orange, colour recognition of green and orange (for more advanced level, get your child to spell it out with the help of phonics), copying skills with the reference of a work sample, waiting and listening of instruction such as "paste the leaf here", and many more! It really depends how you introduce this activity, and who knows you might have the most creative way of teaching your own child! :)

🎈🎈

It will definitely be a fun and enriching activity to do at home with your little ones! :)

We understand you may not know where to start off with, we have uploaded our copy for sharing purposes! All you have to do is to click on the link, and print it out on a hard paper!

You will need orange paper and cut little circles to represent the oranges. To have a more pop-up effect, you may consider using green crepe/tissue paper for the leaves! :)

Have fun & hope to bring more CNY crafts in upcoming posts! ➖➖➖➖
